News Release
12-31-2015 and 1-1-2016

At approximately 6:19pm, officers were dispatched to the intersection of First and the South Bypass in reference to a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 1989 GMC pick-up driven by Glen Williams of Blytheville Arkansas backed into a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Jacob Martin of Kennett. Martin and a passenger in his vehicle were transported by the Medic One Ambulance Service to the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center for injuries they sustained during the collision.

At approximately 9:59pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of Bradley Street in reference to a male had arrived at a residence with blood all over him. Upon arrival, officers learned that the male had been reportedly stabbed at a residence nearby. The victim was transported by the Medic One Ambulance Service to the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center for his injuries. After subsequent investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect. The suspect has not been located at the time of this news release and their information will not be released at this time.

At approximately 12:02am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of South Anthony Street in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers learned that two intoxicated sisters had been fighting. Officers subsequently arrested 34 year old Autumn Varnell and 36 year old Brenda Wilson both of Kennett for Domestic Violence. Both subjects were transported to and held in the Dunklin County Justice Center where they were placed on a 12 hour hold and scheduled to be released on a Kennett Municipal Court Summons after the 12 hours pending their court date.
