On Tuesday October 20, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office to arrest James N. Brown age 30 of Kennett on a Probation Violation warrant. At this time he was taken into custody and transported to the Dunklin County Jail.

10-19&20-2015

On 10-19-2015 at approximately 6:07pm, officers were dispatched to the Family Counseling Center’s “CSTAR” Juvenile housing center in reference to a juvenile causing problems. Officers subsequently detained a 14 year old female. The juvenile was later turned over to the Dunklin County Juvenile Office and later transported to the juvenile detention center in Bloomfield Missouri.

On Monday October 19, 2015 at 9:10 a.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office to arrest Casey Magouirk on a probation and parole warrant. At this time he was placed under arrest and transported to the Dunklin County Jail.

On 10-17-2015 at 23:57 hours Kennett Officers arrested William S. Rhamy from Kennett on 2 outstanding Felony Dunklin County warrants for 2nd Degree Domestic Assault which had been issued by Judge John C. Spielman, the subject was placed into the Dunklin County Justice Center being held on a $35,000 cash only bond.

On 10-17-2015 at 23:57 hours Kennett Officers arrested Jonathan L. Caraway (age 20) from Kennett for Minor in Possession of Alcohol by consumption, the subject was released on a summons to appear in the Kennett Municipal Court in front of Judge Mike Mowrer. The arrest was made during a traffic stop on Saint Francis street.

On 10-18-2015 at approximately 12:31am, officers with the Kennett Police Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Baldwin and Clipper Streets.  During the stop, a person inside the stopped vehicle fled the stop on foot and was pursued by officers.  The subject was located hiding behind a residence in the 600 block of North Jackson Street and taken into custody without incident.  The subject was transported to the Kennett Police Department and upon arrival began complaining of shortness of breath at which point the Medic One Ambulance service was notified.  Medics transported the subject to the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center where he later went unresponsive and was eventually pronounced deceased.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was contacted and requested to conduct an  investigation by our Department.

News Release

The Kennett Police Department along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office are working an ongoing Homicide investigation in the Floyd Courts area of Kennett. Kennett Police Officers were initially dispatched to check the well-being of Carolletta K Hamilton, 24 originally from Caruthersville MO. Apparently Hamilton had not been seen in a few days and the family became worried. Officers were dispatched and shortly arrived at the address in the 900 block of Floyd Courts. Upon entry Police discovered the deceased body of Hamilton in the residence. Investigators from Kennett Police, along with members of the MSHP, and the Dunklin and Pemiscot sheriffs were then called in to work the incident.

Investigators were able to obtain information from witnesses that led them to detain a black male from Homestown MO as a person of interest. Later evidence was gathered that allowed Investigators, who working with Dunklin County Prosecutor Jeff McCormick, to seek the filing of formal charges against this suspect for Homicide.

The suspect was later incarcerated in the Dunklin County Jail, awaiting the formal charges at which time his name will be released.

On Thursday September 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to the Missouri State Probation and Parole to arrest Jeff McNese on a probation and parole warrant. At this time he was taken into custody and transported to the Dunklin County Jail. On Thursday September 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Louis Street to check on a trespasser. When officers arrived they arrested Oscar Lee Hill age 45 of Kennett. At this time he was transported to the Kennett Police Department where he was issued a summons for Trespassing and given a court date in the Kennett Municipal Court.

On Wednesday September 23, 2015 at 12:20 p.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Compress Courts to check on a disturbance that was taking place. While at the residence Frederick D. Tilman age 27 of Kennett was arrested for Trespassing and he was later released a on a summons.

Kennett Police Department News Release 9-18&19-2015 At approximately 6:23pm officers were dispatched to the area of the Wal-Mart Supercenter in reference to two shoplifters that had fled the store on foot. Upon arrival in the area, officers located and detained both of the juvenile suspects. The juveniles were later turned over to the Dunklin County Juvenile Office. At approximately at approximately 7:09pm, officers arrested 45 year old Michael Crossno of Kennett. Crossno was arrested on two Kennett Municipal warrants charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of DWI and for Failure to Obey Judges Orders on the original charge of Trespassing. Crossno was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center with a total bond of $682.50. At approximately 8:00pm, officers arrested 39 year old Charles Williford of Kennett on a Kennett Municipal warrant charging him with Failure To Appear on the original charge of Fail to Stop at Stop Sign. Williford posted a bond of $80 cash only and was released pending his court date. At approximately 11:26pm, officers arrested 36 year old Lessa Johnson of Kennett on a Kennett Municipal warrant charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Trash Violation. Johnson was later released after posting a bond of $75.00 and pending her court date. At approximately 11:49pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on First Street near Anthony Street. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 52 year old Kenneth Johnson of Kennett for Felony Driving While Suspended. Johnson was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s Office. At approximately 1:00am, officers arrested 41 year old Kevin Wood of Paragould AR, for Supplying Alcohol to a Minor. Wood was released on a Kennett Municipal Court summons pending his court date. This arrest was made during an investigation by the Kennett Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division into local businesses selling alcoholic beverages to under aged individuals. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected to follow. If anyone has any information on businesses or any other persons selling or supplying alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 21, please contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 573-888-4622. At approximately 3:05am, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of James Street in reference to a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, the owners of the vehicle had already extinguished the fire. The vehicle sustained moderate damage to its interior and the fire appeared to have been intentionally set. Kennett Police Department News Release 9-19&20-2015 At approximately 9:56pm, officers were dispatched to the area of Fifth and the South Bypass in reference to a vehicle parked partially in the roadway. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 22 year old Joshua Queen of Kennett for Driving While Intoxicated. Queen was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending release on a summons pending his court date. At approximately 1:00am, officers arrested 26 year old Tameka Starks of Hayti on a Kennett Municipal Court warrant for failing to appear on the original charge of speeding. Starks was released after posting a bond of $80.
