Kennett Police Department News Release 9-11&12-2015 At approximately 7:07pm, officers arrested 22 year old, Uzzi Caruthers of Kennett on three active Dunklin County warrants. One for Probation Violation on the original charge of property damage, the 2nd for Probation Violation on the original charge of Tampering with Motor Vehicle, and the third for Assault 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Discharging a Firearm at or from a Motor Vehicle, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Caruthers was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center with no bond. At approximately 7:15pm, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Independence and Dunklin Streets due to excessive noise. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 28 year old Torrie Johnson of Kennett for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute and for Possession of Synthetic Marijuana (K2). Johnson was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s Office. At approximately 9:41pm, officers arrested 36 year old Susanne Skinner of Portageville on an active Kennett Municipal warrant charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Stealing. Skinner was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending a bond of $350 cash only. At approximately 2:23am, officers were dispatched to the area of Independence Avenue after two off duty Wal-Mart employees witnessed two subjects leaving the store without paying for merchandise. Upon arrival in the area, officers located and arrested 22 year old Christopher Hampton and 21 year old Nicholas Hampton both of Kennett and both for Stealing. Both subjects were held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office. At approximately 4:36am, officers were dispatched to the Subway parking lot in reference to a fight taking place. Upon arrival, officers learned that there was no fight however after further investigation, arrested 43 year old Clayton Barnes of Kennett for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Barnes was subsequently released on a Kennett Municipal Court Summons pending his court date.

Kennett Police Department News Release 9-10&11-2015 At approximately 7:41pm, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Riggs Street in reference to a person being bitten by a dog. Upon arrival and after investigation, officers arrested 35 year old Angie Clark of Kennett for Animal at Large/Leash Law Violation. Clark was subsequently released on a Kennett Municipal Court summons pending her court date. At approximately 7:45pm, officers arrested 34 year old William Cauble of Cardwell on an active Kennett Municipal warrant charging him with Failure to Obey Judges Order’s on the original charge of DWI. Cauble was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending a bond of $190 cash only. At approximately 10:39pm, officers arrested 65 year old William Reid of Kennett on two active Dunklin County warrants for the following; one for DWI Persistent Offender with a bond of $20,000.00 cash or surety and the second for Violating the terms of his probation on the original charge of trespassing with a bond of $5000 cash only. Reid was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrants only pending the posting of the bond. At approximately 11:21pm, officers arrested 20 year old Carl Luttrell of Kennett on an active Dunklin County warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Stealing. Luttrell was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending a bond of $400 cash only.

Kennett Police Department News Release 9-9&10-2015 At approximately 9:49pm, officer’s conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Floyd Street after being advised that the vehicle had almost caused a traffic collision on College Avenue at the North Bypass. During the stop and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 34 year old Crystal Goodman of Kennett for Driving While Intoxicated-drugs and for Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree. Goodman was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office. At approximately 11:13pm, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Vandeventer Street in reference to an assault. Upon arrival and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 26 year old Crystal Duncan of Kennett for 2nd Degree Assault. Duncan was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

On 09/06/15 at 1:38 am, Kennett Officers were dispatched to the Eagles Club in reference to shots being fired. On Officers arrival, several subjects where seen leaving the area. Officers attempted to talk with individuals that was still on the parking lot, however everyone stated that they did not see or hear anything and no one was shot. If anyone has any information about the shots being fired, contact the Kennett Police Department. On 09/06/15 at 2:14 am, Kennett Officers were dispatched to the corner of Baldwin and Commercial in reference to shots being fired. As Officers arrived on scene, they heard shots still being fired. Officers attempted to talk with individuals that was their, however no one seen or heard anything. If anyone has any information, contact the Kennett Police Department.

News Release
9-4&5-2015

At approximately 9:08pm, officers were dispatched to the Kennett Police Department parking lot in reference to employees in the communications office observing a subject via the video surveillance tampering with the department vehicles on the lot. Upon arrival, officers located and subsequently arrested 27 year old Carlos Hopper for trespassing and failure to obey a lawful order after he refused to get out of the back of one of the vehicles. Hopper was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Kennett Municipal Prosecutor’s office.

At approximately 10:40pm, officers arrested 29 year old Melissa Kirby on a Kennett Municipal warrant charging her with failure to appear on the original charge of failure to register a motor vehicle. Kirby was transported to the Kennett Police Department where she posted an $80 cash only bond and was released pending her new court date.

At approximately 5:35am officers were contacted at the Kennett Police Department by a female stating that her husband had assaulted her in the 300 block of West Fifth Street. After subsequent investigation, officers located and arrested 30 year old Johnny Green of Kennett for Domestic Assault 2nd Degree. Green was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s Office.

At approximately 6:25am, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Legion Street in reference to two intoxicated males causing a disturbance. Upon arrival and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 22 year old Christopher Hampton and 21 year old Nicholas Hampton both of Kennett for Peace Disturbance. Both subjects were held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Kennett Municipal Prosecutor’s office.

At approximately 6:52am, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Astrachan Street in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect had fled the scene. After subsequent investigation, officers were able to locate the suspect at a different residence where he attempted to flee. Officers were quickly able to capture and arrest 24 year old Tevin Hampton of Kennett. Hampton was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office for Domestic Assault 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest for a felony. Hampton already had pre-existing warrants one of which was a Dunklin County warrant for violating the terms of his probation on the original charge of Domestic 3rd Degree, another Dunklin County warrant for Burglary 1st Degree, and a Kennett Municipal Court warrant for failed to appear on the original charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended.

On Friday September 04, 2015 at 09:40 a.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to a fight located at 103 East Harrison Street. When Officers arrived they arrested Marty L. Bass age 25 on the charge of Second Degree Assault from a previous fight from last night. At this time he was taken into custody and transported to the Dunklin County Jail.

6-21-2015

At approximately 2:12pm, officers arrested 26 year old Latisha McIntyre of Kennett on an active Kennett Municipal Court warrant charging her with failure to appear on the original charge of No Insurance. McIntyre was released after posting a bond of $155.

At approximately 2:48pm, officers arrested 19 year old Quanteona Armstrong of Kennett on a Boone County Missouri warrant charging her with a traffic moving violation. Armstrong was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending a $126 bond.

On 06/12/15 at approximately 21:08, Kennett Officer’s arrested 30 year old Maitez S. Spriggs of Gobler, Mo. for Possession of Marijuana. Spriggs was released on a summons to appear in Kennett Municipal Court on 08/19/15.

At approximately 22:29, Kennett Officer’s arrested 33 year old Samantha M. Stacy of Kennett on a Kennett Municipal warrant. The warrant was issued in 2011 for Peace Disturbance. Stacy was incarcerated in the Dunklin County Jail in lieu of a $100.00 cash only bond.

On 06/13/15 at approximately 00:08, Kennett Officer’s arrested 28 year old Bryce W. Hogan of Campbell, Mo. on Poplar Bluff warrant. Hogan was arrested after fleeing from a traffic stop. After a short foot chase Hogan was apprehended and transported to the Dunklin County Jail where he was incarcerated on the warrant.

At approximately 01:12, Kennett Officer’s stopped a vehicle on Herman Street. The driver, identified as Timothy A. Bowers, was asked to perform a few field sobriety tests. Bowers became belligerent with Officer’s and refused any more tests. Bowers was advised he was under arrest and then told officer’s he wasn’t going anywhere. Bowers then attempted to get past an officer and a struggle ensued. After a short struggle Bowers was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated Chronic Offender and resisting Arrest. Bowers was incarcerated in the Dunklin County Jail pendig notification of the State Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

During this same traffic stop, the passenger, William A. Cannon, was arrested on a Dunklin County warrant for Non-Support. Cannon was incarcerated in the Dunklin County Jail in lieu of $300.00 bond.

On 06/06/15 at approximately 00:24, Kennett Officer’s arrested 20 year old Chantel M. Smith of Kennett for Minor visibly intoxicated. Smith was released with a summons to appear in Kennett Municipal Court.

At approximately 02:51, Kennett Officer’s were dispatched to a disturbance near 600 E. 4th Street. Officer’s arrived and arrested 48 year old Vennis P. Brown for Felony Property Damage. Brown busted out several windows on a 1999 Ford Expedition. Brown was incarcerated in the Dunklin County Jail pending notification of the State Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday June 03, 2015 at 08:20 a.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to McDaniel Firestone to take a report of an attempted burglary. When officers arrived they made contact with the owner who stated that sometime last night someone attempted to break out a window at the rear of his store. At the time of this report there are no suspects. Anyone with any information on this incident needs to contact the Kennett Police Department.

On Wednesday June 03, 2015 at 09:25 a.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Beaton Street to take a report of a burglary. When Officers arrived they made contact with the resident who stated that they had been out of town and when they returned several items was missing from there residence. Anyone with any information on this incident needs to contact the Kennett Police Department.

On Wednesday June 03, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. Kennett Officers were dispatched to a two vehicle motor vehicle accident with injuries on Highway EE and McFarland Street. At the time of this report a 17 year old female from Malden was driving a 1997 Saturn when it collided with 2001 Chevrolet driven by a 16 year old male from Kennett. At this time two people were transported to the Twin Rivers Medical Center by Medic One Ambulance.
